Description :
Tobacco pipe made of clay with oval Gouda bowl, heel and straight stem. Bowl opening milling. Bowl stem side embossed under a clamp crown two standing ovals in which to each other consecutive portraits with left the bust of Prince William IV with coat with embroideries and on the right the bust of his consort Princess Anna of Hanover with pearl necklace and décolletage, the ovals surrounded by a text ribbon with "VIVAT DE PRINS EN PRINCES V. ORANIE" (long live the prince and princess of Orange), field between the portraits and the crown filled with a French lily, around this a branch with leaves and Orange apples on which the shields with the arms of the Seven Provinces, to conclude at the base of the pipe bowl a ribbon with "STADHOUDER GENERAAL". Bowl reverse undecorated. Heel left side mark Gouda coat of arms. |
