Tabaksverpakking van grauwwit papier staand bedrukt in zwarte inkt een liggend ovaal waarin langs de onderrand tabaksproducten en op een lint "DE TABAKSHANDEL", bovenaan een driekante steek met "VAN OUDS DE HOED", het ovaal omlijst door laurierbladeren, bekroond door tabaksproducten en een Mercuriusstaf en een drietand, langs de onderzijde buiten de voorstelling "J.E. MATTHIES. IN TABAK, SNUIF EN SIGAREN. DAM, HET TWEEDE HUIS VAN DE NIEUWENDIJK, H.246, TE AMSTERDAM.".
